What can I control? Virtually any electronic device or anything that requires power. This includes access control, security, lighting, climate, irrigation, home theater, audio, pool and spa, blinds and awnings, fireplaces, and much more. If you have something out of the ordinary that you would like to have integrated, please feel free to ask us and we will see what can be done. We love challenges!
How is Amazing Controls GREEN? We have been green since day one. We have an approach to make things more intelligent in your home or building. This means making things work as efficiently as possible. We turn lights off to conserve power when rooms are confirmed to be vacant. We make sure that you are only watering your property as much as required. Amazing Controls customers are never the ones with their irrigation systems running while it is raining. Conserving power and water are just a few of our green examples. We are happy to share more with you regarding this topic since Amazing Controls has a strong passion for a green friendly environment.
Is it Mac or PC based? While the server machine is based on the Mac OSX platform, you can connect to the server using a Mac client, a Windows client or even a client running on your smart phone or PDA. We found that our customers love that the server is a Mac OSX machine due to reliability and security reasons.
How much does it cost? The iDoor system starts at $5,000 and the Amazing World systems starts at $25,000. The overall price depends on the number of inputs and outputs to be controlled within your system. Please contact us for specific pricing and further details.
Does it run on X10? While X10 runs communication over power lines, Amazing Controls has designed systems based on IP communication running over low voltage wiring or even wireless. However, an X10 sub-system can be used within the Amazing Controls architecture, if so desired.
What type of devices do I use to control my home/building? You are able to access your home/building both locally and remotely from your computer, smart phone or handheld PDA. Additionally, local control may be achieved from touch screens within the home or building.
Can it be implemented in an existing home? Yes. While re-wiring an existing home can prove to be challenging, we have done several of these retrofit installations. It is however, preferable to implement a system into a new construction project in order to make wiring installation easier.
Can I install it myself? Yes. We have developed an iDoor kit as part of our product offering which is available to those who wish to install on your own. The Amazing World system is much more extensive and therefore, does require professional installation.
I’m building a new home, at what point does Amazing Controls get involved? We ideally get involved in your project as early as possible. We feel it best for our customers to get an overview of the system possibilities in order to insure proper planning and purchasing of equipment. It is important to be able to integrate everything seamlessly in order for the equipment to communicate properly with the Amazing World system.
What if I want to upgrade later? Ideally, we educate our customers with future possible upgrades in order to wire up the full scope of their project in anticipation of what they may desire down the road. Then we can begin with the system having functionality that is immediately desired in addition to making upgrading at a later time a more streamlined process.
What happens to my security during a power outage? Every Amazing Controls system is designed with backup power to ensure the system is functional 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How many points of entry does the iDoor control? The iDoor system is scalable and may control as few as one point of entry up to as many as you require.
What if I want to program additional zones or lighting scenes? You would do this on your own through the software client. We do not require you to pay our programmers to do this for you. Within our system, this is quite easy to do. It is as simple as a few mouse clicks to set the lighting to your preference and clicking save. The changes you make are updated to the server and immediately available on all of your touch screens and clients on computers or smart phones and PDAs.
